Meet the
Teachers 

I feel very honoured to be the Principal at Lower Plenty, a school with committed and passionate staff who make learning fun and engaging every day.  Our school is one where children are genuinely happy and our community cares for each other, I feel fortunate to have been welcomed into this.

When not at work I spend my time playing lawn bowls, doing woodwork and spending time with my wife and 13 year old son, both of us doing our best to keep him outside and off of an iPad.  

I love teaching and learning with the staff and students at Lower Plenty Primary School. The school’s small community, promotes inclusion and creates a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive as lifelong learners.  I thoroughly enjoy working with students using a multisensory approach when teaching, allowing my lessons to be hands-on, engaging and lots of fun.

Outside of school, I spend my time with my family and friends, camping and travelling to different places within Australia.

I enjoy working at Lower Plenty Primary School, I am here to help and support each other, and care greatly for the children and their families.  Working in the office gives me the opportunity to get to know our families and to also work closely with our schools’ committees and volunteers, all of whom help create this amazing community.

Away from school I enjoy catching up with family and friends, watching my boys play footy and travelling.

I love working in Year P/1 at Lower Plenty Primary School.  Our supportive staff and wonderful children make coming to school each day a joy.  Helping children to become life-long learners is what inspires me as a teacher and underpins everything we do in our classroom.  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and reading.

Hello, my name is Emma. Having worked at Lower Plenty Primary School as an Education Support staff member for the past three years, I have loved getting to know our students, staff and families. After recently graduating, I am excited to take the next step into teaching within a community that means so much to me.

I look forward to creating hands-on, engaging lessons that encourage children to ask questions, explore ideas and build confidence in their abilities. I enjoy using a multisensory approach to help students develop their understanding and discover the joy of learning.

My time at Lower Plenty has shown me the value of knowing each child and building strong relationships. I am excited to continue supporting our students while challenging them to learn, grow and achieve their best.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

As the Physical Education teacher at Lower Plenty Primary School, I enjoy helping children develop the skills and confidence to be active, try new challenges and discover activities they love.

My lessons focus on building movement skills, teamwork and an understanding of fair play through engaging games and activities. I encourage students to challenge themselves, recognise their progress and take pride in their achievements.

I want every child to feel confident participating, whether they are learning a new skill or extending their sporting abilities. PE also offers valuable opportunities to practise leadership, persistence and respect for others.

It is rewarding to see students support their teammates, grow in confidence and experience the enjoyment of being active together.

As the Visual Arts teacher at Lower Plenty Primary School, I enjoy helping students discover their creativity and develop the skills to bring their ideas to life.

Through hands-on experiences with different materials and techniques, I encourage children to explore colour, texture, shape and composition. Learning about artists and art from different cultures inspires students to try new approaches and develop their own artistic voice.

My aim is to build both confidence and craftsmanship. I encourage students to experiment, make thoughtful choices and persist as they develop and refine their work.

Art offers wonderful opportunities for curiosity, problem-solving and self-expression. It is rewarding to see students take creative risks, discover what they can achieve and feel proud of their creations.

I am delighted to be back at Lower Plenty Primary School as the Outside School Hours Care Coordinator. Having previously held this role, it is lovely to reconnect with familiar families and welcome new children into our OSH community.

I bring extensive experience and a passion for creating a welcoming, engaging environment where children feel safe, build friendships and enjoy their time before and after school.

I look forward to offering varied activities and new experiences that spark curiosity and creativity. From hands-on projects and games to opportunities to relax after a busy school day, I want children to have choices, explore their interests and help shape our program.
